Knebworth boasts a wealth of sporting and recreation opportunities.

Outdoor Pursuits
There are a number of clubs offering outdoor sporting opportunities and details of which may be found under "Community - Directory". These include:
Football
There is now one football club based in Knebworth which caters for the full age ranges.
Knebworth Youth FC - up to 18 years. Runs many teams for both girls and boys and is well supported. They are based at Knebworth Recreation Grounds and use other facilities for winter training.
Knebworth FC - over 18 years and runs two teams.
Knebworth Old Boys- for the more senior age group.
Cricket
Knebworth Park Cricket Club is based at Knebworth Park, access off Old Knebworth Lane and has both junior and senior squads. It maintains two good squares. There are also for practice and storage facilities within the area.
The Club has use of a Pavilion with a bar. They have been very successful in the local leagues and have won numerous trophies.
Bowls
Knebworth Bowls Club is long established and is based at Knebworth Recreation Grounds
Tennis
Knebworth Tennis Club is very active and runs a variety of sessions for all age groups.
There are four double courts with an all-weather surface in Knebworth Recreation Grounds. Three of the courts have floodlights.
Indoor Pursuits
Once again there are a number of clubs and societies offered a wide range of indoor pursuits and include:
Swimming
Stevenage Swimming Pool is operated by Stevenage Borough Council and is open to the public.
Facilities include:
- A streamlined 33m deck level main pool, allowing easy access for all
- A 12.8m teaching pool
- A fully air conditioned dance studio available for aerobic sessions and private hire
- Competition standard diving boards
- A wide variety of course and sessions available to all, including Leisure 50, Ladies Only, Toddler Splash, fun sessions and children's holiday activities.
- AquaEd Swim School teaching adults and children of all ages and abilities to swim,
- Free parking
The Buntingford Tennis Club organises mini tennis which normally meets in a school hall.
Carpet Bowls
Badminton, Table Tennis and other
There are a number of groups who organise these pursuits at various locations throughout the town. Some meet at the Seth Ward Centre whilst others use the school sports halls.
